Obituary

Martin Joachim Weisman, 92, Holocaust Survivor, beloved husband of the late Gerdy; loving father of Joseph (Ursula) and Sally Freskos; cherished Papa of Jamie and Rachel Weisman and David (Kristen) and Jennifer Freskos; adored son of the late Frieda and Joseph; devoted brother of the late Harry and brother-in-law of Werner (the late Rhea) Wolff; treasured uncle and friend of many. Martin had a passion for classical music and was an ardent supporter of the State of Israel. His greatest love in life was his family. Chapel service Tuesday 10 AM at Shalom Memorial Funeral Home, 1700 W. Rand Road, Arlington Heights. Interment Shalom Memorial Park. I remember coming back to Chicago to visit, after I moved away. My Uncle Martin was always so up on current events and politics, and discussed both so passionately. The last time I saw him was over the 4th of July weekend, and even though he was was using oxygen, he was still passionately discussing politics. Bruce commented on how articulate and well read he was. I said, “Always.” My uncle always had a smile and a hug for us, whenever we visited. It was part of my visits I really looked forward to.
